Description:
A fine and small regency bracket clock in an arched single pad top brass bound mahogany case. Standing on adjustable bun feet, there is a small carrying handle to the pad top. The 4½ inch enamel dial has roman numerals and pierced blued steel hands. Above 12 o’clock is a strike/silent option. The two train twin fusée movement has an anchor escapement and hour strike sounding on a bell. The backplate is engraved with the signature Widenham, London. Widenham is recorded as working in London during the first quarter of the 19th century and is known to have gained a prize in chronometer trials. Height excluding handle 11 in (28 cm)
