A fine and small Regency mantel timepiece in an elegant brass-bound ebonised case standing on bracket feet and surmounted by a single ball finial.

The eight-day duration timepiece movement has a half deadbeat escapement and single fusee drive.

The enamel dial with Roman numerals and pierced blued steel pointers is signed by the maker Coster, Henley below 12 o'clock.

James Coster is recorded as working in Henley and Great Marlow circa 1800.
