Description:

A fine and small William and Mary longcase clock.  The case constructed with deal and veneered with burr walnut of outstanding colour and good patination.  Standing on bun feet, the elegantly proportioned case has a long trunk door and rise-up hood flanked by barley twist columns.

The ten inch square brass dial is mounted with a silvered chapter ring signed by the maker and cherub and foliage spandrels to the four corners.  The centre is finely matted with a subsidiary seconds ring, ringed winding holes and a finely engraved rose to the centre.  Above six o’clock is an aperture to view the day of the month.

The eight day duration movement has five latched pillars and includes bolt and shutter maintaining power.  The hours are sounded on a bell via an outside locking plate.
