<span class="txtarea"><p> A rare George III miniature bracket clock.  The brass bound ebonised fruitwood case stands on ogee feet with a three pad top and brass carrying handle.  </p><p>The break arch brass dial is mounted with an enamel disc for the chapter ring and a subsidiary enamel disc in the arch for strike/silent option.  </p><p>The two train fusée movement with rear wind has a verge escapement and hour strike on the bell.  The back plate is engraved in the rococo style around the maker’s signature.<br /> <br />John Fladgate is recorded as being apprenticed in 1743 and then establishing his business in Conduit Street, London.  He produced many fine clocks and watches, examples of which are included in the British Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum.  </p><p> </p></span>
